SUMMARY
We are in search of a Communications Content Specialist to assist in the effective development of messaging and editorial content to be used for a broad range of communications which support the Y's brand as a cause, the organization's impact on the community, for membership and financial development communications.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Responsibilities of the Communications Content Specialist include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare messaging and copy for Marketing and Communications initiatives, including but not limited to: web content, social media messaging, general collateral, presentations, fact sheets, Q&As, frequently asked questions, white papers, newsletters, business communications, reports, presentations, scripts, and customized communications for business functions.
  • Assist in the coordination of social media programs, or website content/features that serve to support Marketing and Communications goals. Sever as proofreader for printed, electronic, voice and digital messages or communications.
  • Collaborate with members of the Marketing and Communications team in the development and execution of year-round association level communications programs.
  • Work on special assignments as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS degree in communications or related field.
  • 3+ years of corporate communications or marketing communications experience.
  • Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills. Sample work required.
  • Demonstrated experience executing communications programs
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a fast-paced marketing communications team.
  • Exceptional skills with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Working knowledge of Adobe.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize projects, work within short time frames and meet deadlines.
  • Well organized with ability to multi-task and think outside of the box.
  • Self-starter; Able to work independently.
  • Demonstrated success in communications role for a medium size organization.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Healthcare and/or non-profit experience a plus.
  • Experience working with donors and/or volunteers.
  • Experience with managing or developing social media campaigns.
